KE 'n' Coffee - KE is a people business
15th July 2020 - 15:00 - 15:30
This week Alasdair and Tamsin will discuss ARMA’s member survey, published last week.
There are few hard lines between Research Management (RM) and Knowledge Exchange (KE). Many of our members work in teams that encompass the research, impact and innovation briefs. As KE has grown in size and stature alongside the established RM function the focus of roles in this area has changed, and in many cases expanded, with increased responsibilities but also opportunities to take new career directions.
Research Consulting, who conducted the ARMA survey, ran a similar survey for PraxisAuril members in 2015 and 2017. Those surveys provided better understanding of who our members were, what they did, what their main concerns were as a profession, and how we could support them through training and development. Like the ARMA survey, this told us as much about organisation as functional responsibilities.
Universities are facing uncertain futures because of the impact of COVID-19 on HE finances, but at the same time are also the focus of high expectations for aiding economic and social recovery. This is, therefore, a good time to talk about us – about you! - to see what the key trends and challenges are for members in their day-to-day work and discuss how professional networks can support you through these challenging times.
