PraxisAuril Announces New Chief Executive

PraxisAuril is delighted to announce the appointment of David Russell as its new CEO. 

David is currently Executive in Residence at the Saïd Business School, Oxford, having led the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) in England as CEO for 8 years and  having previously served the UK government for 16. During his leadership of the ETF he worked with Government and senior education leaders to transform workforce development in Further Education. In Whitehall, he served in the Department for Education under the New Labour and Coalition Governments. Key roles in the Senior Civil Service included leading the secretariat for the cross-Government national Skills Strategy; creating the national policy, funding and accountability framework for academies; leading the first phase of the National Curriculum Review; raising the Education and Training leaving age to 18; and implementing the Wolf Reforms and Richards Review, overhauling technical education and apprenticeships in England.

In 2022-23, PraxisAuril is celebrating 20 years of providing world class training and support to the United Kingdom’s and Ireland’s Knowledge Exchange community.  David’s role as CEO is to spearhead an ambitious growth and engagement strategy whose aim is to deliver innovative training appropriate to the KE professional of 2022 and beyond and develop and deliver on PraxisAuril’s core mission to be the voice and champion for KE professionals nationally and internationally.

Knowledge Exchange is the lifeblood of our nation’s innovation, productivity and human flourishing.  I am hugely privileged to be taking up this role at such an exciting time for PraxisAuril and the community it serves.  The potential for PraxisAuril, building on its achievements of the last 20 years, is enormous.  I am very much looking forward to working with the team, the Board and the whole KE community to take our collective success into new avenues and domains in the pursuit of public benefit.
