Engage 2021: Call for contributions to the Engage Unconference

Engage 2021: Call for contributions to the Engage Unconference

We have selected our final Engage themes, and the call for contributions to the Engage Unconference is now open!

The Engage Unconference will take place online from Monday 11th October to Friday 12th November and includes the Engage Exhibition, an opportunity to share engagement practice – the good, the bad and the ugly. This call for contributions is an invitation to help create conversations and actions that will support the sector to enact meaningful change over the years to come.

There are a number of roles available and ways to get involved. These include:

  • Theme leaders: are you happy to champion a theme, and be its spokesperson? This is a key role – as a theme leader you will be a convenor of unconference activities, either by yourself or working alongside others. You would be responsible for ensuring that the activity happen, and making sure there are actionable outputs as a result.
  • Facilitators: are you great at facilitating discussions, and ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to contribute? Are you great at supporting a process, ensuring it leads to effective outcomes?
  • Resource people: do you have expert knowledge of a topic that you would like to share? Do you have significant experience relating to the themes, and would you be prepared to be drawn on as a resource for the unconference groups?
  • Exhibitor: do you have a brilliant example of engagement practice that you’d like to share with the sector? Do you have a cautionary tale that others could learn from?

We have two assessment dates so please submit your application within the timeframe that best suits your activity. These are Tuesday 17th August and Thursday 23rd September. If there are cost implications for your participation that you'd like help to cover, please let us know in your application form.

This call for contributions is centred around the themes and issues our community has chosen to address - thank you to everyone who shared their thought-provoking and inspiring ideas on our Padlet board. You can find further details on the themes, and on the expectations and support available for Unconference contributions in the Unconference briefing document

This is an excellent opportunity to shape the content, ideas and discussions for Engage 2021. This year's Engage Conference will be curated by the NCCPE, by drawing on the outcomes from the Unconference. Find out more on our Engage 2021 webpage.

Please do get in touch should you have any questions by emailing nccpe.enquiries@uwe.ac.uk. We look forward to hearing your ideas and shaping ideas for change!
