June 2021 Conference

Conference 2021: Review, Regroup, Revolution KE making a difference in a post-pandemic world   Our three-day annual conference this year takes us on a journey from the challenges – and triumphs! – of the past year to a future where KE matters more than ever.  Each day will bring you the big picture alongside sessions that zoom in on detail through case-studies, skills analysis, and stakeholder interactions. Sessions and speakers to be announced soon. Booking available from the 8th March. Tuesday 8th: Review (What a difference a year makes) Day one offers a chance to take stock of the changes we’ve had to make around the how, where and why of KE during the pandemic year. Responding to Covid-19 put KE firmly in the spotlight as never before, whilst we all had to adapt to new ways of working that turned business-models upside down and brought down geographical barriers. Sessions will include a dig into KEF Metrics, a UK devolved nations roundtable and demonstration of how KE has been deployed to boost business resilience.   Wednesday 9th: Regroup (KE matters more than ever) Day two sets up our launch pad for the future. We’ve seen how KE can operate in a crisis but we can’t work at crisis pace for ever, so what elements do we want to retain? This day is about assessing the current state of play and setting the scene for our way forward.  Sessions will include a look at the KE Concordat as a framework for evaluation, new cultural models for KE, a revitalised KE skills framework, and a discussion of where Brexit leave UK KE practitioners and partners.    Thursday 10th: Revolution (Moving on up) Day three focuses on where we go from here. How do we create our own ‘new normal’ for future KE that plays a part in addressing urgent challenges such as climate change? How have public and business expectations of KE changed during 2020 and what opportunities does that provide? Sessions will involve a business panel to debate the future of the knowledge-based economy, a discussion on diversity in KE, and we’ll go global with KE partners from around the world.    Due to the ongoing situation and changes surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been agreed by PraxisAuril Board and Executive Team that we will not hold face-to-face events until 2022. We will be holding the 2021 Annual Conference entirely digitally from the 8th – 10th June. The next face-to-face Annual Conference will be held at the Brighton Centre on the 6-8 June 2022.    PraxisAuril is a member-led organisation, and using our profile and position, we facilitate connections between the public sector research base, stakeholders, government and industry.
