As part of our objective to become the world’s most effective University Technology Transfer organisation, we are looking to appoint a talented Trainee Market Analyst & Coordinator within our Operations team on a full-time permanent contract.

We are searching for a dynamic and inquisitive Trainee Market Analyst & Coordinator to join us in this newly created role, whereby the successful candidate will primarily support the Project Managers in their assessment of opportunities arising out of the University of Manchester.

 

The Trainee Market Analyst & Coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager’s, and Operations Director, contributing to the research of a particular invention with a view to determining the intellectual property (IP), the potential market of future applications and if there are existing technologies already in the market. There will also be a requirement to contribute to the analysis of commercialisation in support of the business case and strategy for their exploitation. Namely, seeking out relevant contacts and undertaking both primary & secondary research.

 

Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate must possess strong time management skills, with the ability to manage workload & priorities.  This is to encompass the responsibilities aligned with the analytical and coordinator elements of the role.

 

This unique role provides the opportunity to learn and develop your career within the Operations team due to the varied accountabilities aligned.  In addition to supporting Project Managers with research etc, you will also be accountable for the administrative support to the Operations Director, and also the wider team as and when required (i.e., ensuring that the necessary documentation is prepared in time for meetings, generating reports and updating/maintain internal databases etc).

 

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has a vested interest in market analysis & innovation, and  who wishes to develop their career within an ambitious Technology Transfer Office.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of business, economics, management and/or finance. With the ability to collate, understand and present market/scientific data to relevant stakeholders.

 

A degree in scientific or engineering discipline would be advantageous, so too experience working  within an industrial or innovation-based environment.
