Senior International Partnerships Manager (Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry)

About the Role

As a senior member of the International Research and Innovation Team, the postholder will lead the research and partnership development and pre-award support for the international research funding portfolio at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. The postholder is responsible for strategically engaging international funders and partners in order to maximise the proposal/income opportunities. You will assess research ideas against funding requirements; facilitate large-scale proposal preparation; supervise accurate costing and contracting; monitor compliance with the international funding requirements and ensure that best practice is adopted across all activities of the team.

About You

Educated to a PhD degree or equivalent professional experience in the field of medical science or healthtech, you will have extensive experience in a partnership development and income generation role within high education institutes, as well as track record in supporting large-scale multi-disciplinary research applications involving multiple overseas research/innovation partners. Good experience in international contract preparation/negotiations and ability to handle partner due diligence and research IPs is also essential.You will line manager a G5 Bid and contract Manager and a G4 Costing and Contract Officer to ensure the full cycle of research development and pre-award operations are properly supported.

About the Department

The newly created International Research and Innovation team will manage research and partnership development plus pre and post-award support for EU and international research collaborations across all three Faculties. It aims to provide strategic engagement of international partners and funders externally, deliver competitive and high quality proposals and projects internally, and to ensure compliance with the UK, EU and international regulations and funder requirements.
