Research Institute Innovation Manager - Health / Industry & Innovation (2 roles): Sheffield Hallam University

Sheffield Hallam is committed to applied research and knowledge exchange, developing innovative, practical solutions to real world problems. Our University strategy, Transforming Lives, highlights the quality, distinctiveness, application, impact and societal benefit of the University's collaborations and partnerships. This has led to the recent establishment of four new Research Institutes, working towards achieving our bold ambition to be the leading Applied University.

The role of Research Institute Innovation Manager has been created to help deliver the strategy and ambition of the Research Institutes. It is a key position responsible for engaging external partners, promoting academic-industry-health collaborations. You will take a leading role in the cross-university Research and Innovation Service, working to secure innovation and knowledge exchange funding, and actively contributing to university-wide plans and priorities. We currently have two opportunities available, within our Health Research Institute and our Industry & Innovation Research Institute.

Your work will be collaborative, working alongside the Research Institute Director and as a key part of the Innovation Services team. You will lead the development of new partnerships and projects with collaborators from business and health, or industrial collaborators, linking them to academic staff across the Research Institute. You will work alongside academic colleagues to develop ideas and concepts into propositions and projects.

You’ll need to be ambitious, customer-focused and naturally collaborative, comfortable in taking the lead in working with academic staff and external partners across a range of disciplinary backgrounds. The ability to engage, coach and motivate colleagues and partners at all levels is also essential.

We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements. For this job we particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) applicants as we are underrepresented in this area.
