Research Commercialisation Manager: University of Bristol

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to develop and manage a portfolio of commercialisation projects across a broad range of technology areas but particularly in health and life sciences. This new position will join a small but growing team working across the innovation value chain from intellectual property identification to commercialisation.

What will I be doing?

You will be involved in all aspects of the commercialisation process: guiding researchers in the strategic use of their intellectual property; assessing technology disclosures for patentability or other protection mechanisms; managing the process for gaining intellectual property protection; advising on development and commercialisation routes for technology; providing commercial inputs to translational funding applications and driving commercialisation via licenses or company creation

You should apply if

You have experience of taking innovations to the market within a commercial environment or within the higher education sector. You should have the ability to critically examine complex research and assess optimum commercialisation strategies, and have skills in business planning, marketing, negotiation, and communication. A relevant scientific degree is essential. Experience of working in health and life sciences would be an advantage.

If you’re passionate about ensuring research outputs make an impact through commercialisation and working with researchers in one of the UK’s most vibrant cities, then we’d be interested in hearing from you.

We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
