International Post Award Manager

About the Role

As a senior member of the International Research and Innovation Team, the post-holder will lead a team of 6 people to provide professional services with respect to a range of financial and partnership management, including project and budget set-up, project staff and student appointment authorisation and compliance to funder and organisational terms and conditions.  This role will be responsible for the post award administration of EU and International research grants/contracts for all 3 faculties with an annual turnover of £116 million.  This role requires specialised knowledge of the HEI’s research funding sector and will ensure that the financial and contractual management of all awards are performed at the highest level.

About You

Educated to a University degree or professional accounting qualification, you will have demonstrable experience in managing research grant administration and compliance of funder rules and regulations, including EC and US Uniform Guidance. You will have excellent knowledge in EU auditing requirements, both CRF and institutional, as well as US Federal Audit requirements. You will line manage two team leaders and three research support officers ensuring that sponsor and university policies and procedures are adhered to, therefore leadership in the day-to-day post award operational activities is essential.

About the Department

The newly created International Research and Innovation team will manage research and partnership development plus pre and post-award support for EU and international research collaborations across all three Faculties. It aims to provide strategic engagement of international partners and funders externally, deliver competitive and high quality proposals and projects internally, and to ensure compliance with the UK, EU and international regulations and funder requirements.
