Innovation Development Manager (fixed term 0.9FTE)

We are looking for a talented and professional Innovation Development Manager to join the Directorate of Research and Innovation. This is an exciting time to join Manchester Met. The past five years have seen significant achievements in driving high-quality Innovation-based partnerships. In the Innovation Development team, our focus is on building commercial income streams with partners in the private, public and third sectors, providing them with specialist input such as new product development.

Role

The role requires an experienced B2B professional with experience working within a Higher Education setting, to help deliver an ambitious strategy. Manchester Met research is fundamentally interdisciplinary and innovative. Our five research missions include Transforming Health and tackling Inequalities.

You will be joining an established, professional and collaborative team, and you will:

  • Focus on increasing income streams from contract or collaborative research and consultancy
  • Generate leads and develop good working relationships with key partners to help identify additional opportunities
  • Provide expert advice to academics and guide them through university processes for developing funding proposals (full training can be provided)
