Preparing Your Business For Sale

Date of event:
Thursday, November 7, 2024
Event Organiser: Nottingham University Business School
Thursday, 07th November | 09:00 - 17:00 | University of Nottingham Campus

Nottingham University Business School has launched a 'Preparing your business for sale’ programme.

This programme has been developed by the University following small businesses on our growth programs asking for help. We realised that there is a distinct lack of impartial advice for businesses in this area, and as a University it is part of our aim and values to use our expertise to aid the community and businesses in the region.

As the University has no vested interest in the sale of your business, we offer an honest introduction into the process involved in preparing your business for sale. You will have the chance to meet and discuss with professors (venture capitalists) who have bought and sold dozens of enterprises, entrepreneurs who will reflect on their successful exit stories and brokerage firms who can support you in the future. This one-day workshop is your introduction to the industry standards and art of selling a business.

By attending this course, you will gain more knowledge on:

  • Various business exit options and timescales involved
  • How to appoint the most suitable brokerage firm
  • The negotiation process and post-sale integration
  • Expectations of the buyer
  • The preparation needed before going to market- including professional valuation techniques to evaluate and justify your business valuation
