The Glasgow School of Art

The Glasgow School of Art was founded in 1845 as one of the first Government Schools of Design, which were established to promote good design in the manufacturing industries. Then as now, our purpose remains the same: to contribute to a better world through creative education, research and knowledge exchange. We are ranked among the top 10 art and design institutions in the world (QS World University Rankings 2015), and regularly collaborate with industrial and other partners in fields including: advanced digital visualisation and interaction, sustainable architecture, design innovation, medical design, product design engineering, textile printing and fine art.
