This is a pre-conference event at MIRA Technology Park allowing delegates to experience cutting edge motor engineering and find out more about the MIRA Technology Institute (MTI) - the new training facility at the Park.

Free to UKSPA members BUT spaces are very limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis. Non-members just £50 plus VAT.


THE CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION 2-3 April 2019, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TT 

The conference will see a huge choice of sessions and the conference streams will look at some of the key challenges and opportunities for UKSPA members and key stakeholders. Issues covered include: city led Innovation, clusters, rural and urban, company growth from start-up to scale-up, innovation places and shared spaces plus much more.

Conference Delegate Rates

Through sponsorship and partnership as well as exhibitor support we have been able to keep the UKSPA member conference delegate rate at an early bird price as follows:

£90 (plus £18 VAT) for both 2 and 3 April 2019 (excludes dinner)

£45 (plus £9 VAT) for either single day (excludes dinner)


Non Members: 

£340 + vat for both for both 2 and 3 April 2019 (excludes dinner)

£175 + vat for either single day (excludes dinner)

18:30 - 19:30: Pre-dinner drinks

19:30 - 22:00: Conference dinner, University of Birmingham. Dress code: Business/smart

Tickets are priced at £50 (plus VAT) and based on previous experience, we do anticipate the dinner reaching capacity prior to the event.

If you book as soon as possible you will also get priority booking at the new Campus Hotel which is within walking distance of the conference centre. A limited number of rooms are available to delegates for this newly opened hotel on campus. A variety of hotel options are also available in Birmingham with great transport links (including a direct rail line to the University’s station which takes just a few minutes to Birmingham New Street).



 Each day there will be limited spaces available for study tours - a priority for early bookers only!

By booking early you will also get priority booking at the newly opened Campus Hotel (Edgbaston Park Hotel) which is about a 10-minute easy walk from the conference buildings. A limited number of rooms are reserved for the nights of Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd April 2019. These are available on a first come - first served basis so do be quick and book early to secure a room here. Details on room types, the code for booking and who to call/email are below.

Other Information

The Conference takes place at the University of Birmingham Campus in the Bramall Music Building and Aston Webb Building. The University of Birmingham Campus has its own Railway Station - University - and frequent services take just a few minutes to and from New Street. Birmingham is busy at this time of year so please book your accommodation early.
