Key Dates in KE

The KE sector is a busy one, with an increasing number of programmes, initiatives and consultations to respond to. Our aim is to provide a quick overiew of key KE announcements and deadlines to help our members keep track. Contributions from all UK nations are welcome, and international dates will be considered too. If you would like make a contribution please email with full details. October 2020 

13 October :  Deadline for input to HM Treasury consultation on R&D Tax Credit reform (click here for consultation document

The focus of this consultation is the scope of qualifying expenditures for R&D tax credits, and especially whether expenditures on data and cloud computing ought to qualify for relief. PraxisAuril members are invited to contact Tamsin Mann with views on how spin-outs in particular benefit from these credits and how an extension in scope would support them. 

16 October : Deadline to submit KEF narrative statements

26 October : KE Concordat launch    

Detailed guidance on process and evaluation for the KE Concordat will be released to the sector. This is the start of a period in which HEIs will be asked to consider and draft their response to the Concordat principles. This is anticipated to run until May 2021.

29 October : Implementation of the KE Concordat Webinar

Following the launch of the opportunity for institutions to publicly sign up to the principles and participate in the development year for England on 26th October 2020, this webinar will provide further detail of the development year. The evaluation panel chair, Dr Phil Clare, will discuss the signing up process, self-evaluation and action plan exercises, and the evaluation process.

Deadline to submit AMS for 2019-20 and provide an overview of HEIF activity 2020-21. This should align with the new HEIF priority document
