UCI Impact and Operations Manager: University of Cambridge

The Policy Evidence Unit for University Commercialisation and Innovation is looking for an Impact and Operations Manager to help drive the delivery and impact of the Unit's work.

This new unit, based at the Institute for Manufacturing in West Cambridge, aims to support policy-makers in government departments and funding agencies, and senior leaders in universities in delivering a step change in the contributions universities make to innovation and economic prosperity through their commercialisation and innovation-focused activities and partnerships. The Policy Evidence Unit is funded through a generous grant from the Research England Development Fund and is being delivered in partnership with the University of Cambridge Centre for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy and the UK National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational elements of the Unit and the delivery of its externally facing activities and impact agenda. They will, among other things, drive the delivery of an annual expert paper series from leading academics and practitioners on contemporary UCI issues, and lead the production of an annual review of international trends and developments in UCI policy. Working closely with the team and our partners, the successful candidate will deliver a series of UCI policy-focused seminars and workshops, and produce workshop reports capturing key lessons and insights.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the early stage development and growth of this important new national Policy Unit. Working with the Unit’s Director, they will contribute to the strategic planning process, and the development and implementation of longer-term sustainability plans.
