The University of Southampton has an exciting opportunity to join its successful and dynamic technology transfer team as Technology Transfer Manager for our physical sciences and chemistry disciplines. The successful candidate will be responsible for an exciting portfolio, working with leading scientists and engineers from several prestigious departments, covering, amongst others, bioengineering, next generation diagnostics and medical devices and drug discovery.  

To fill this role you will need to have considerable commercial acumen, pragmatism and a solid understanding of risk management. You will work with world-class researchers, entrepreneurs, global partners and investors to help shape and develop strong mutually beneficial commercialisation deals.  

You will be driving a wide-ranging portfolio of commercialisation projects in order to maximise the impact of our research and to increase income to the University through commercialisation deals and/or spinout creation. 

You will have excellent communication skills, be well-organised with the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a virtual team. You will be a self-starter and enjoy the challenge of making things happen in a dynamic environment.  If you have a relevant science degree or similar qualification with a proven track record of successful commercialisation then we would like to hear from you.
