Student Enterprise Manager: University of Plymouth

An opportunity has arisen to join our Enterprise team, based in Research and Innovation, to coordinate and develop our Student Enterprise offer.

Each year hundreds of students engage in our enterprise offer of events and support. The aim of these is to provide students with the skills and confidence to start and grow their business now or in the future.

The purpose of this role is to raise awareness of, develop, deliver and facilitate access to the student entrepreneurship programme of activities within our Enterprise Hub. You will meet prospective entrepreneurs and guide them in their early journey through start up. You will design and deliver a range of enterprise activities and involve academic colleagues, external partners and alumni.

You will support those with a business plan to access funding, advice, coaching and knowledge not readily available from other sources.

You will be a graduate, with an understanding of the principles and practice of business start-up, with an empathetic approach to helping others to realise their ambitions. Ideally you will be familiar with the context of higher education and be confident to design and deliver enterprise learning interventions. You will be committed to continuous improvement and be an effective project manager.

The team are based in Enterprise Solutions and support the University in its commitment to Employability. This commitment requires a willingness to continually innovate in response to changes in the graduate labour market; ensuring that the opportunities to build employability at Plymouth are equal to, or better than, those offered at comparable institutions on an international basis.
