ESRC recruiting two Senior Portfolio Managers to join the Innovation and Impact team working on business engagement and the Industrial Strategy Challenge Funds. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join us in an exciting, creative and varied role. Both posts are open ended and full time.

Role 1 will help to develop and deliver a new focussed area of commercialisation for the social sciences. You will have a leading role within ESRC and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) in developing the commercialisation agenda for our social science community. You will also manage ESRC-led investments in one of the ESRC-led contributions to the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) - a £4.7bn investment by the UK Government to boost productivity.

Role 2 will manage a portfolio of research activities led by ESRC as part of Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) - a £4.7bn investment by the UK Government to boost productivity. You will have a leading role within ESRC and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) in continuing to develop work of the Challenges that you work with. You will report regularly about ISCF activity to ESRC senior leaders and the relevant Challenge Directors.

Both roles will manage ESRC-led investments and maintain strategic relationships, working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to enable the delivery of cutting-edge research at some of the world’s leading research universities and organisations. ESRC is currently supporting Challenges looking at manufacturing, healthy ageing, digital security, foundation industries, next generation services, and construction. We are also exploring new ways to support sustainable impact through commercialisation mechanisms.
