Senior Funding Manager (Consultancy and Contract Research): University of Plymouth

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced consultancy and contract research manager to join our team to support the commercial exploitation of our world class research. With an ambitious institutional strategy around research excellence and knowledge exchange, this role is central to our mission and will be responsible for growing commercial funding, as part of a dynamic team sitting at the heart of the University.

Reporting directly to the University’s Director of Research and Innovation, you will lead a small team driving up interest and engagement in commercial opportunities and advising and supporting academic colleagues to undertake consultancy and contract research. You will work alongside the Senior Research Funding Manager and the Senior Innovation Funding Manager in providing an excellent and responsive advisory and support service to academics across all disciplines.

You will have a creative, proactive approach to problem solving and be able to use your experience to help realise the commercial potential of opportunities presented to you from a variety of sources. You must be well organised, with the ability to prioritise work effectively, working under pressure to deliver against tight deadlines. A particularly important feature of this role is establishing and maintaining positive relationships with both academic colleagues and external clients to ensure that projects are delivered successfully.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
