Research Development Officer x 2: University of Portsmouth

The University of Portsmouth is a dynamic and ambitious institution with a track record of success. One of only four universities in the south east of England to achieve a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework and ranked in the top 150 in the Times Higher Young University World Rankings.

The University of Portsmouth has an extensive track-record and strong culture of undertaking world-class research, and applying this through engagement with external partners to identify and address local-to-global challenges.  Delivery of research, innovation and knowledge exchange activities is a core activity within the university and the role of the Research Development Officer is critical in supporting colleagues in achieving our ambitions to be the UK’s Top Modern University and one of the top 100 Young Universities in the World by 2030.

Research Development Officers work with colleagues in a professional service orientated central team supporting researchers and other professional colleagues from across the institution at all stages in their research and innovation careers.  You will proactively develop and support high quality research, innovation and knowledge exchange activities and help to secure the funding to enable this.

You will be familiar with the relevant funding landscape and will have experience of supporting the development of successful applications for funding from a range of funders.  You will be an excellent communicator and enjoy building and supporting networks and relationships, both within the university and externally.  You will also have an eye for detail and relish the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of activities across the many disciplines the staff at the university excel in.

The University of Portsmouth believes this role may be eligible for sponsorship with UKVI under the Skilled Worker Route visa. Please familiarise yourself with the requirements set out before applying for this role. If you are unable to meet the requirements for sponsorship you will need to confirm details of an alternative visa to work in the UK when applying for this role.
