Grade 6 - £27,511 to £33,797 (pro-rata) dependent on experience

Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides professional services support to help deliver the research ambitions of the University's Transforming Lives strategy and delivery of the Creating Knowledge Implementation Plan - ensuring a 'one-university' approach to research and innovation development, management, and administration.

The Funding Advisers will provide specialist advice and support across four Research Institutes to develop high quality research and innovation grant applications, responding to challenge-led strategies from research funders and the needs of business and external partners. You will support the cycle of developing research applications from conception through to submission. One full time post and one part time post will initially be aligned to the Research Grants team, whilst the third post will be based in the Innovation Team.
We are looking for innovative and flexible individuals with strong communication, influencing and analytical skills. Experience of writing, developing or managing research / business development projects / activity is also essential.

The core responsibilities of the posts include:

Application guidance to ensure compliance with funder and University regulations

Bid writing support including the development of the case for support and impact statements

Budget guidance and coordination working with Finance teams as required.

Lay review of applications to drive research quality based on knowledge of the funders

Funder and partner liaison to support application preparation and submission, including partnership development with business where required

Coordination of funding and collaboration agreements working with Legal Services
