Partnerships Project Manager (Healthcare Data): University of Oxford Medical Sciences Division

This unique and progressive role will support an exciting research partnership between Novo Nordisk and the Oxford Big Data Institute (BDI). Armed with proven experience of complex data analysis methodologies, you will provide project management for a portfolio of research projects, and will take the lead on scouting for new collaborative projects under the direction of the academic lead. You will act as mediator, negotiator and influencer to balance the needs of both parties to develop translational research proposals. As a confident self-starter you will you will develop and maintain strong relationships to enable collaboration and ensure opportunities are realised across a breadth of expertise. Working in collaboration with the academic lead, you will use your knowledge and scientific technical expertise to set a scientific strategy for the programme. The post-holder will also be responsible for delivering an annual symposium hosted by the partnership, including budget responsibility.

This role plays a pivotal part in the development of the partnership between Novo Nordisk and the BDI and the appointed candidate will have excellent problem solving, communication and networking skills, along with the ability to prioritise whilst working to deadlines, often under pressure. A solid understanding of big data analysis, preferably within a medical environment is critical. The successful candidate will ideally have an understanding of research in both an academic and industry setting, and experience of bid writing would be advantageous. You will need to be self-directed and able to manage a number of complex projects and inputs in parallel. We are seeking an approachable person with a collaborative mind-set and the ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders from diverse backgrounds is critical to the success of this role. Event organisation and budget management experience would be desirable, as would experience of big pharma research discovery processes.

You may be required to travel occasionally, and this is likely to be to Novo Nordisk Denmark or to attend a conference.
