Are you experienced in managing and leading on projects? Do you have strong relationship management and analytical skills and are looking to help us beat cancer?

Why we need you

We have an exciting opportunity within our Strategic Partnerships team for a Partnerships Manager to come on board and lead on various projects and non-commercial partnerships. The team sits within our Research and Innovation directorate and focuses on identifying and securing new collaborations that support the delivery of CRUK’s research strategy.

What will I be doing?

Within this role you will work across multiple levels within the charity to support delivery of our research partnership agenda. You will provide project management across segments of the Strategic Partnerships portfolio, through a team supporting business development, execution and relationship management.

This role could suit a project manager or pipeline manager who has worked in a scientific environment, whether that’s a commercial organisation, academia or another charity. Or you could have project management or partnership experience with an interest in science and research.

Make an impact every day by:

  • Working across internal and external environments to build and maintain an awareness of the competitive and collaborative non-commercial research funding landscape, summarised in a format that facilitates our internal and external activities
  • Supporting the Strategic Partnerships function, including the Head and Senior Managers, through development of key project plans, briefing documents and landscaping analysis for the key stakeholders.
  • Supporting business development activities, in partnership with others, to identify new opportunities and help build and foster new relationships through partnership management and preparation of business plans and proposal documents.
  • Developing and maintaining coordinated plans for ongoing engagement and communications with the non-commercial research funding community, including medical research charities and government agencies, including fostering of relationships across organisations at multiple levels
  • Being viewed as a point of contact for a selection of external partner organisations; responsible for management of information and intelligence by establishing and maintaining non-commercial contacts and sharing information with the wider team and directorate as appropriate.

What skills are you looking for?

You’ll be able to bring to the role:

  • Experience of managing and delivering projects in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Analytic skills and demonstrable ability to grasp and analyse complex information   quickly
  • Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience (ideally in a scientific discipline)

What will I gain?

Without you we wouldn’t be able to achieve our aim of seeing 3 in 4 people survive cancer by 2034. So we want to reward you in as many ways as possible. Our benefits package includes discounts on anything from travel to technology, generous holiday allowance, gym membership, and much more. We want to ensure that you have the best work/life balance possible, so we actively encourage a flexible working culture for all of our roles wherever possible.  For the majority of our office-based roles you’ll only be required to work from a specific location for 1 or 2 days a week on average.

You’ll also be able to access a wide range of learning and development opportunities. And ultimately, you’ll know that you’ll be changing lives through your work.

If you’re as ambitious as we are, join our collective force and enjoy an excellent career, as we save lives and add years.
