Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate : CRM / Data Analytics Specialist: Robert Gordon University

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate in Business Analytics or a related field to fast-track their career development as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate focused on CRM and business analytics.

KTP supports partnerships between business and universities or research organisations, placing graduates (KTP Associates) to work on innovative high-profile projects. As a KTP Associate you will undertake a two-year collaborative project between Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) and Robert Gordon University (RGU). The post will be based at AGCC’s premises at Aberdeen Energy Park.

This Management KTP will focus on supporting AGCC in adopting a more data-centric approach to business processes and operations. The project seeks to develop the skills and understanding necessary to extract intelligence from existing data (primarily managed through a CRM database), refine its forward data collection activities and help AGCC to enhance membership support activities. Through enhancing these areas, the project seeks to contribute to income growth for AGCC and across the wider Chambers network.

You will ideally possess a Master’s degree in a subject such as Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Data Science, or a strongly related discipline. However, applicants to the Associate role who hold a strong undergraduate degree in related areas may also be considered.

You will need a strong understanding of the role data analytics can play in supporting business decision-making and will have experience of associated technologies and methodologies as you will be responsible for the management and analysis of data. You should have an understanding of digital marketing and the role that data and web analytics plays in both measurement and in informing strategy. Ideally this knowledge and experience would be evidenced through both qualifications in related areas and through professional experience. However, applicants who can demonstrate appropriate experience and understanding from either a professional or academic context will be considered.

You will need to balance technical skills with business knowledge. You should have a good knowledge of local business and a keen interest in economic matters, you should be committed to keeping up to date with news and developments in these areas. You will be interested in the application of design thinking and motivated to translate the value of the project to individual business units and stakeholders within AGCC. As you will be required to develop training materials, an understanding of training and staff development would be advantageous, as would the ability to create materials for marketing purposes. Excellent communication and time-management skills will also be required.

Salary Range: Up to £30,000 with a review after one year, plus £4,000 development budget for the associate and a £6,500 combined budget for travel and consumables.
