The University of Essex has an exciting opportunity for a Knowledge Exchange Officer to join our Enterprise Team. The role will support Knowledge Exchange activities as part of the Knowledge Exchange Team responsible for engagements with business and external organisations across all 3 Faculties. The role will sit within the Research and Enterprise Office at the Colchester campus.

The Research and Enterprise Office (REO) is an Administrative Section within the University’s Professional Services. The REO delivers services to the University’s academic community to support a range of research, impact and knowledge exchange activities and also contributes to a wide range of business engagement activities and facilitates the delivery of services to business, as well as to the wider community.

Duties of the Role

The post holder will support our Knowledge Exchange Managers in developing relationships with businesses to undertake research and consulting and develop innovations, based on our research strengths. The role holder will also support the Universities annual monitoring requirements to funders including the KE concordat, HEBCI and KE Framework.

Skills and qualifications required

The successful applicant will have an understanding of the University research environment and / or commercial R&D. They will have a keen interest to work at the forefront of knowledge exchange, an ability to work independently and as part of a team. Educated to graduate level (or equivalent level of experience), the post holder will have strong communication skills, a high level of integrity, self-motivation and able to work to competing deadlines.
