Knowledge Exchange & Impact Officer: University of South Wales

Research and Business Engagement (RBE) is the University department responsible for central management of the University’s activities and strategy in research and knowledge exchange, and for providing comprehensive support to academic departments with their research and innovation activities. We want our research to contribute to the economic and social development both locally and globally. We use our expertise and external funding to collaborate with external organisations to maximise the impact that research makes on the community. We work closely with the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research, the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Innovation, the Faculty Deans and the Heads of Research.

We are seeking a dynamic, influential and collaborative individual to work within our Research & Innovations Services (RISe) Team to support an exciting new programme of Knowledge Exchange and Innovation projects funded by HEFCW’s Research Wales Innovation Fund. The role will identify and work in partnership with academic staff, RISe and RBE colleagues to lead the support for the commercialisation of opportunities arising from the research of a variety of disciplines.

Outcomes will include spin-out company formations, commercial licences, contract research, and grant funded projects funded by Welsh Government and UK Government’s innovation departments. Success in the role will make a significant contribution to the impact of the research from the Departments involved.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience of research commercialisation or knowledge transfer who has supported the development of knowledge based start-up enterprises and development of commercial and collaborative agreements.
