As IP and Commercialisation Manager, you will work alongside an existing post-holder to play a key role in achieving impact and financial returns from intellectual creativity. Maintaining a clear focus on University strategies, plans and priorities, you will seek out opportunities and support their translation into innovative products and services. Your responsibilities will include identification, appraisal and where appropriate, protection of intellectual property created by University staff. Liaising with the University’s patent attorney services provider and other contracted services, you will instruct necessary actions while managing expenditure on them. Engaging both within and outside the University, you will find and collate information needed to create evidence-based commercialisation plans with clearly defined objectives. Bringing together all those who need to be involved in the commercialisation process, including developing and managing licensee and investor relationships, you will use tact and initiative to achieve cooperation and timely progress.
