Health Enterprise East (HEE) is a leading Healthcare Innovation and Technology Consultancy based in Cambridge. At HEE we believe in improving healthcare through technology and innovation.

Key aspects of our work include helping the NHS, the medical technology industry and government organisations to turn innovative ideas into new products and services that will benefit patients.  

With a growing NHS and academic client base, we are currently looking to recruit an Innovation Manager to identify, protect and develop a portfolio of medical technology related innovations alongside leading clinicians and researchers.

 

The Role

As Innovation Manager you will work closely with the Head of Innovation and other members of the team to identify, evaluate, protect and commercialise valuable Intellectual Property (IP) arising from within the NHS.

You will be responsible for providing effective project management to ensure development of a portfolio of medical technology innovations with both commercial potential and clear patient benefit.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identification, evaluation and protection of medical technology related innovations
  • Supporting development and commercialisation of our innovation portfolio
  • Research and analysis of markets, IP landscapes and regulatory issues
  • Providing training in IP and commercialisation strategies for medical technologies to our NHS member network and other clients
  • Supporting our Clinical Innovator Forum network, organizing events and delivering content

 

Skills and Experience

You will be an energetic self-starter with highly effective communication skills and some experience in managing IP related projects. You will be motivated by playing a role in helping leading clinicians commercialise their ideas for the benefit of patients.

Candidates should have a degree, or equivalent level experience, with a scientific or technology background in the life sciences, engineering or a related subject. Further intellectual property qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
