Innovation Funding Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly motivated and innovative team in Research & Innovation Services at Sheffield Hallam University.

 

 

The Innovation Services team manages innovation-led business development and promotion of the University’s business support services. We work with business partners and other external stakeholders, supporting our academics with collaborative R&D and innovation funding bids, commercialisation of intellectual property and involvement in regional economic growth initiatives.

 

As Innovation Funding Manager you will join the Innovation Funding team to develop and deliver a high-quality service, providing diverse and comprehensive support for innovation and knowledge exchange (KE) funding opportunities across SHU. This is a varied and dynamic role, with responsibility for developing collaborative R&D bids for Innovate UK, Research Councils, NIHR and other KE funders. You will manage relationships and develop long term, high quality partnerships with both SHU academics and potential partner businesses. You will also contribute to the ongoing service development and its continual improvement, adapting to the needs of both internal and external clients.

 

We are seeking a forward-thinking collaborative team-player. With experience of business engagement, stakeholder and project management, you will also have a keen interest in supporting SHU academics, across all disciplines, bring their ideas to life. You will have excellent administration skills with experience of working in a busy, customer-focused environment, be proficient in Microsoft office and have a proactive and organised approach to workload.
