Innovation Development Manager

Our four Research Institutes provide strategic focus for funding applications, and support growth in our capacity and capability to work in collaboration with a wide variety of partners.

The Innovation Funding Manager is a key position responsible for promoting academic -industry collaborations, managing and developing the cross university service to secure innovation and knowledge exchange funding, and actively contributing to university-wide plans and priorities.

Your work will be collaborative, leading a team, working with academic and professional services colleagues from across the University, and facilitating interactions with external funders and collaborators. You will have a central role in providing bespoke support and intelligence for academic staff, contributing to the development of new partnerships and projects with external collaborators.

You’ll need to be ambitious, customer focused and naturally collaborative, comfortable in working with academic staff and external partners across a range of disciplinary backgrounds. Knowledge and experience of supporting and developing successful funding applications, including large scale multi partner initiatives and experience of leading a research and/ or innovation service, or similar function is also essential.
