Duties and responsibilities

As a service provider to the Faculty of Natural Sciences supporting academics in their interactions with industry and commercialisation activities, your main duties will include supporting the Director of Industry Partnerships and Commercialisation (IPC), Faculty of Natural Sciences and the IPC Senior Executives and Executives as appropriate in:

  • Promoting College’s capabilities and licensing portfolio and securing collaborative research and commercialisation income;
  • Assessment of research discoveries, analysis and evaluation, and advancement of those technologies through to market adoption via collaboration with industry, access to translational funds, licensing or spin out;
  • Managing industry partnerships and key stakeholder relationships

Essential requirements

You should have a passion for understanding the industry-academia collaborations and commercialisation. To be successful in this role you will have experience of providing dedicated administrative and supervisory support for senior professional services and academic staff, as well as experience in relationship and/or project management in a Natural Sciences academic or business environment (e.g. chemicals, materials, pharma, biotech etc.) are essential.

Strong delivery focus, excellent communication skills coupled with an understanding of the academic environment are also essential.

This career opportunity will maximise to the full your experience and interest in roles such as Business Development Manager, Business Development Executive, Relationship Manager, Corporate Partnerships Executive, Corporate Development Manager, Corporate Relationship Manager, Strategic Relationship Manager, Research and Business Partnership Manager, Licensing Executive and Technology Transfer Manager within the pharmaceutical, chemicals, technology, higher education, government sectors or similar.
