Duties and responsibilities

As a service provider to the Faculty of Engineering supporting academics in their interactions with industry and commercialisation activities, your main duties will include supporting the Director of Industry Partnerships and Commercialisation (IPC), Faculty of Engineering and the IPC Senior Executives and Executives as appropriate in:

  • Assessment of research discoveries, analysis and evaluation, and advancement of those technologies through to market adoption via collaboration with industry, access to translational funds, licensing or spin out;
  • Promoting College’s licensing portfolio and research capabilities and securing commercialisation and/or collaborative research income;
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships;


Essential requirements

We are looking for applicants with good appreciation for research and development in a relevant field (medtech, engineering, computing etc.) and a passion for technology transfer to help us turn Imperial’s research into inventions that address real world needs.

You should also demonstrate an understanding and ideally some experience of translation of University innovations into commercial products. Strong delivery focus, excellent communication skills coupled with an understanding of the academic environment are also essential.
