We are seeking an outstanding individual to join the University of Oxford’s Research Services team in a newly created role to lead our strategic research development activities.

Current research challenges increasing require a multi-disciplinary approach, alongside the collaboration and cooperation from research teams which span disciplines, organisations and sectors. The approach of external funders reflects this trend as they increasingly direct their resources into thematic or challenge-led priorities, and towards large scale projects or initiatives.

As Head of Strategic Research Development you will lead a small team within Research Services and work closely with research support colleagues in divisions and departments across the University, to enhance Oxford’s capability and capacity to support the development of strategic research initiatives and, in particular, their associated funding bids. The team will play a key role in Oxford’s institutional response to strategic research initiatives and other major programmatic applications from across the University’s academic divisions.

You will be located within the Robert Hooke Building (RHB) Team of Research Services (located in central Oxford), working with researchers and departments across all of the academic divisions of the University.
