The successful candidate will be an experienced leader working in the arena of knowledge exchange, management of industry-academic relationships and regional, national and international economic development support, with the credibility to lead a highly professional team in a Russell Group university. You will provide excellent and relevant services, managing and motivating staff and fostering innovative approaches to new challenges. You will work closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Enterprise, supporting their delivery of strategic goals.
Reporting to the Director of Research & Innovation Services, you will play a key role in managing change to deliver knowledge exchange and research related services to the University, leading and managing the Business Engagement and Partnerships team, providing a clear vision and ensuring the delivery of high-quality professional support aligned with University strategy and priorities.
You will drive and exploit the institution’s engagement with national, regional and place-based opportunities such as those defined by the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy and will also seek to influence and shape relevant policy in Wales and the UK.
The ability to collaborate with senior University managers and broader teams within the University is essential, as is a high level of partnership working with external organisations. You will be expected to represent the University at a national and international level.
