We are currently building upon our foundation of world-class teaching and research excellence in order to be recognised as world leaders in Knowledge Exchange.
Knowledge Exchange (KE) is the term used to describe the activity which links the University to the wider world. Central to KE is the need to develop a culture of innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship for all staff and students that contributes to the delivery of the University’s strategic priorities.

Our ambition is bold; we want to be in the top 5 Universities in the UK with regards to Knowledge Exchange and Innovation. This is befitting of a University and a city which has a special story to tell when it comes to innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship. The term ‘cutting-edge’ was forged here to represent world-leading excellence in the manufacture of metals and blades. From the sharpest blades, to the sharpest minds, our aim is to build on our existing culture of enterprise and continue to demonstrate excellence in innovation on the world stage.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
