Data Manager (Partnerships and Knowledge Exchange)

Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University? We have an exciting opportunity in our Partnerships and Regional Engagement (PRE) team for someone with a passion for data management looking to use their skills in data collection, analysis and, crucially, communication to make a positive impact on our knowledge exchange and innovation activities.

Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience relevant to the role, you will have proven experience of conducting and handling extensive quantitative data / information collection, analysis and report writing, with experience of using and managing a customer relationship management (CRM) system or similar. Able to work independently, flexibly and collaboratively as part of an enthusiastic team, you will be able to make sense of detailed information and relate it to the bigger picture to both understand and support the needs of data users.

The PRE team plays a central role in the delivery of partnerships, innovation and knowledge exchange, regional engagement and academically led-collaborations to support the delivery of excellent research, teaching and impact at the University of Sheffield.

The team delivers two areas of interlinked activity which support the delivery of the innovation pillar of the University’s vision: Partnerships, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange, and the Made Together programme of regional engagement. Friendly and ambitious, the team operates in a fast paced environment working closely with colleagues in Global Engagement, Campaigns and Alumni Relations, Planning and Strategy, Corporate Communications and the University’s Advanced Manufacturing Group as well as external partners at regional and national level. You will have a direct impact on these activities by improving the management and utilisation of detailed information relating to Innovation and KE, including use of the Salesforce CRM system.

With an expert understanding of partnerships & KE data, you will work proactively and engage readily across faculties and departments to understand user needs and support the use of these data to facilitate the creation of productive, mutually beneficial partnerships and excellence in KE.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
