Costing Compliance Lead (pre-award): King's College London

King’s College London has created a fabulous opportunity for a candidate passionate of research compliance and research support. The postholder will be part of a very dynamic and flexible structure in the Pre-award office at King’s and liaise horizontally with other teams in Procurement, Post-award, Finance, Contracts team, Faculties, etc, according to the needs. 

The post is expected to set-up a process and system on how to review and respond to compliance matters at application stage for all research applications being submitted at King’s to external funders, both national and international, like UKRI, NIHR, EU, BHF, Wellcome Trust, NIH as well as other charities and governmental funding. This will translate in working with departments and academics as well as the relevant functional teams across the College to review compliance matters with King’s internal policies and funders terms and conditions and address them as applicable. There is a close link with Procurement and internal facilities, etc. to obtain satisfactory compliance. For example, it is important that at the time of application the costings for internal faculties are correct, financially viable and auditable at the time of so that these costs are not rejected if there is an external audit during the life-cycle of the grant.  

The role holder is also expected to work with academics on particularly complex multi-collaborative applications and review the IP arrangements before the award notification. 

This is a new role that will be subject to developments and adaptations according to audit reviews and institutional needs. Resilience and capacity to adapt in constant changing environment is an essential part of the role. 

The successful role holder will be instrumental in the improvement of research compliance and support within King’s.  

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract. This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent - and the salary includes London Weighting Allowance.
