The Research and Knowledge Exchange Directorate is seeking to appoint a Contracts Officer to join the central Research Delivery team.
The Contracts Officer will manage all aspects of contract negotiation for research and knowledge exchange activity across the University. The post-holder will manage the drafting, review and authorisation of research and knowledge-exchange grants and related contracts and will act as a business partner and primary point of contact and advice for RKE-active staff across the University.
You will report to the Head of Research Development and work closely with colleagues in Research Delivery and the wider Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) Team to ensure all University RKE agreements are compliant with the University's financial and governance regulations.
The successful applicant will have experience in negotiating and drafting research and knowledge exchange contracts, having previously worked in a firm of solicitors or in-house in a contracts officer or contracts manager role.
Able to liaise credibly and articulately with colleagues at all levels including executive/professoriate, the post holder will have the ability to influence and advise, managing a high-volume workload to meet high standards and client expectations, and work under pressure to meet precise deadlines.
This is a key role within the Research Delivery Team, and the Contracts Officer will have an opportunity to make a significant contribution to supporting strategically important RKE activity within the University.
