Commercialisation Associate (Consultancy): Cambridge Enterprise

Sitting at the heart of Europe’s most successful technology cluster, Cambridge Enterprise is the commercialisation arm of the University of Cambridge. We support academic staff and students, and turn technology, expertise and innovation into a valuable and sustainable portfolio of companies, investments, licences and consultancies.

We are looking for a Commercialisation Associate to join the Consultancy Services team, who help facilitate consultancy projects between University staff and external organisations through provision of support services. The team work with a wide range of external customers including national and international companies of all sizes, governments and charities and help support University staff across all disciplines. This creates a very interesting and varied role.  

As a Commercialisation Associate your role would include negotiating terms with external clients, drafting contracts, monitoring projects, supporting the relationship between internal and external clients and helping to develop and promote the business.

Ideally you will have a degree-level qualification, preferably in a business, technical or legal subject, alongside experience in a commercial or research environment.  The ability to cope with a fast paced, high turnover environment is essential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised candidate who has excellent communication skills.  The ability to prioritise and to handle a number of projects in parallel, while maintaining an active customer focus, is key. Experience of handling and/or negotiating commercial contracts would be a real advantage but training will be provided.
