Translation Executive

Location: Stratford (currently our offices are closed but will reopen later in the year). We welcome flexible working requests from candidates.

Salary range: £50-56k dependent on experience

The role:

Working within the Opportunity Sourcing and Translation (OST) team, you will typically have responsibility for development and implementation of plans for translation of CRUK funded research at specified key CRUK sites across the London region, including driving project acquisition, active project development, intellectual property strategy and managing overall portfolio balance. Success in this role means that you are able to assist the translation of new ideas arising from CRUK funding, that you will provide input and direction to the project-related axis of Commercial Partnerships operations and performance to maximise positive commercial and patient benefit outcomes.

You will welcome an intellectual challenge and will be able to quickly understand and provide critical analysis of proposed new projects and more complex ventures and define strategies for development of your projects. You will work with, and influence CRUK-funded academics and, where relevant, their technology transfer offices in the areas of drug discovery/development, biomarkers, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health and research reagents. Ideally, you will provide specialist knowledge of one of these areas on a CP-wide basis.  It will also be important for you to build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholder within the London translation ecosystem.

Who we're looking for:

PhD (or equivalent) in a scientific or healthcare discipline, ideally oncology/technology-related;

In-depth experience in translating discovery research and pre-clinical science gained in sectors such as medical technologies, diagnostics, healthcare technologies and pharmaceuticals.  This experience may have been gained in industry, healthcare, academia or in non-profit organisations;

Ideally, good working knowledge and experience of the patent filing and prosecution process;

Experience of negotiating research-related contracts including MTAs, research collaboration agreements etc;

Ability to drive an entrepreneurial spirit and think creatively
