About the role

The Student and Graduate Enterprise Programme is a unique and exciting initiative at the University of Leicester which offers students from all disciplines and levels the opportunity to explore the potential of generating ideas, running their own business and developing practical business skills to enhance their employability and career prospects. 

This new role is a unique opportunity for you to lead and deliver start-up and enterprise activities and support pre-incubation for our student and graduates. You will play pivotal role in managing, optimising and communicating the enterprise development activities, together with supporting students/graduates to develop their business ideas and gain support through the ERDF funded programme. 

The Innovation Hub is celebrating its 5th Birthday and since then ERDF programme form part of our Research and Enterprise offer of support for innovation, research, development and commercialisation activities at the University of Leicester. The programmes are also supported through Santander Universities, start-up visa endorsement and dedicated hot-desking workspaces within the Leicester Innovation Hub, School of Business Brookfield campus and Space Park Leicester. An exciting programme is in place for pre-incubation support and there are plans progressing for a new enterprise curriculum and co-curriculum development, with the scope to further optimise the delivery of the programmes. 

 

About you

To succeed in this role, you will bring experience of project management and leadership to drive the delivery of a connected student and graduate entrepreneur community linking with enterprise and start-up networks. 

You will also be a strong relationship manager with relevant experience in creating new business and funding opportunities, and have experience of operations and implementation of strategy working together with stakeholders and partners. Including experience of business coaching, mentoring and delivery of start-up support programmes.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role until 30 June 2023 with the potential for the role to be extended.
