Research and Innovation Services is now recruiting a Business Engagement Manager to join the knowledge exchange function in its Technology Transfer and Impact Programmes team and to have specific responsibility for delivering on the business / university engagement under the SPRINT Programme.
(Space Research and Innovation Network for Technology) is a £5 million programme, funded by Research England, to five of the UK’s leading space Universities of Leicester, Edinburgh, Surrey, Southampton and the Open University to support SMEs to commercially exploit technologies, data and expertise developed for space. SPRINT will provide SMEs with unprecedented access to university expertise and facilities to enhance research and innovation, and put the UK at the forefront of global developments in the space sector.
You will be driving a wide-ranging portfolio of projects designed to maximise interactions between the University and business partners particularly SMEs under the SPRINT Programme and to support their application for project funding. You will work cooperatively across the SPRINT partner universities to support the success of the programme.
Commercially astute and technologically aware, you will work with world-class researchers and global partners to help shape the relationships, secure the funding, and develop strong mutually beneficial partnerships. You will project manage a significant portfolio of opportunities with multiple business partners.
You will have excellent communication skills, be well-organised with the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a virtual team. You will be a self-starter and enjoy the challenge of making things happen in a fast-moving environment. If you have a skill level equivalent to achievement of a professional qualification or postgraduate degree (preferably in science/engineering/social science) qualification with a proven track record of networking and building strong partnerships then we would like to hear from you.
