Salary: £40,792 - £48,676 per annum 

We require a business development professionals with specialist knowledge of the Internet of Things to work on a major new project: Promoting the Internet of Things via Collaborations between HEIs & Industry (Pitch-In).

Pitch-In - an award to Sheffield University as lead, with project collaborators in Newcastle, Oxford and Cambridge Universities - seeks to overcome barriers to collaboration in the development and exploitation of technologies in the Internet of Things (IoT). It is designed to share good practice in Knowledge Exchange across the higher education sector, forge external technological, industrial and regional partnerships, and deliver the Government’s industrial strategy priorities.

You will ensure that Pitch-In fulfils its objectives, including liaison with project partners and internal and external stakeholders, managing the commissioning of related activities and fulfilling Newcastle University associated reporting requirements. You will facilitate, develop and support a portfolio of enterprise related project activity (including industrial engagement, knowledge exchange, commercial collaborations, consultancy, as well as IP management and exploitation).

You should have at least a first degree in a relevant subject and an understanding of the principles, processes and issues underpinning commercialisation (in its broadest sense) in a Higher Education institution. Ideally, you should have some experience of working with the Internet of Things.
