Business Development Executive: University of Edinburgh

This is an exciting post, with the potential to influence significantly the future directions of the diverse, dynamic and growing School of Mathematics, as part of an expanded Business Development team.

With a responsibility to establish new relationships between the School and key industry and public sector bodies, and to strengthen existing relationships, you will help the School to thrive and achieve impact by facilitating a wide range of activities such as joint research programmes, consultancy, and opportunities for students on our growing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We have strong relationships with leading financial institutions, energy companies and logistics firms, and we are looking for the right person to help grow activity in these sectors and others in the coming years. You will also help the School to capitalise on key strategic University initiatives such as the Data Driven Innovation (DDI) programme, which as part of the Edinburgh City region deal represents a grand vision for the future of the Edinburgh economy and the University.

You will have a good honours degree, ideally involving Mathematical Sciences or a related discipline, and be able to provide clear evidence of an ability to establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts.

Informal enquiries can be made by contacting: Professor Iain Gordon (Head of School), email
