The Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) is mandated to identify, develop and/or adapt appropriate technology solutions that provides sustainable innovative solutions through co-creation and collaboration in line with national priorities and the needs of Batswana. A dedicated Research and Partnerships Department ensure that knowledge exchange and technology transfer take place guided by the Intellectual Property Policy and the Innovation Management Framework. This office facilitates the adoption and uptake of BITRI invented technologies by and local companies for production at commercial scale. In so doing, BITRI transfers its technologies formation of spin offs licensing and assignment.
