LIT is committed to knowledge transfer with a clear focus on strategically orientated, market led, impact focused and high‐quality research projects and enterprise and development services that form the foundation of research excellence at LIT. LIT engages in innovative applied research in partnership with industry, supporting international operators as well as indigenous players.

LIT focuses its efforts on systemising it’s research, enterprise and development successes through dedicated research Centres and Groups as well as offering support from on-campus incubators, which provide a development path for institutional research‐related activities.
