Engage and connect with senior KE professionals from the PraxisAuril membership
PraxisAuril Directors' Fora are designed to connect and engage senior KE professionals under the PraxisAuril membership. These events are attended by Heads of Office (or a nominated deputy) with key sector stakeholders by invitation only.
Only available to members, these bi-annual events provide valuable strategy/policy updates and the opportunity to discuss and debate key issues affecting the sector, as well as providing valuable networking time with peers.
Places for these events are limited, multiple registrations from a single institution may be restricted.
The 2019 Autumn Directors' Forum was held jointly with ARMA and took place at the Park Regis Hotel, Birmingham on Tuesday 24 September.
The event focused on the role of universities in their local region, and included the usual mix of strategy/policy updates as well as discussing how these translate into activity. Discussions included how universities are working with the various regional actors and the funding streams available to facilitiate this. Local industrial strategy, strength in places funding, city deals and the approach of the devolved governments were also featured.
The 2019 Spring Directors’ Forum took the KEF as its backdrop to discuss professional development in a number of ways: for senior career professionals, for team development and KE in academic pathways. This included sessions on:
- Possible implications of the KEF Concordat and metrics for office development and staff deployment across KE and Research functions
- KE training for academics, picking up on a PraxisAuril Directors’ list conversation and with reference to a recent study by NERC KE Fellows
- Feedback from the Board Strategy Away Day, requesting input on new course development and deepening stakeholder relationships
The first PraxisAuril Directors' Forum took place in Cambridge at the Møller Centre! Due to a challenging and changing environment, the forum discussed new approaches to managing, evaluating and promoting research collaboration and enterprise activities. The Forum also provided a great opportunity to input into PraxisAuril advocacy activities, on behalf of the membership.
