University of Birmingham to lead Midlands Innovation Commercialisation of Research Accelerator (MICRA)

 
The University of Birmingham is to lead a connected system of incubators and accelerators that will drive jobs and economic growth across the Midlands region, following a £5 million award announced today by Research England.
The award will establish MICRA as the largest formal technology transfer collaboration in the UK, providing a single gateway to the collective intellectual property (IP) resources from the eight Midlands Innovation universities - Aston, Birmingham, Cranfield, Keele, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Warwick.

Brainomix Secures £7m ($9.8m) Investment to Tackle Strokes with AI

 

Brainomix builds on partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim for AI-assisted fast treatment of stroke victims in latest venture round.

Brainomix, a medical imaging company using artificial intelligence (AI) for the fast diagnosis and treatment of stroke victims, has attracted £7m ($9.8m) of investment to bring its software to the global healthcare market.

RSE BBSRC Enterprise Fellowships

 
The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) is currently seeking proposals to the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) Enterprise Fellowship scheme which supports researchers who wish to play a key role in the commercialisation of their research. 
 
RSE Enterprise Fellowships provide a salary, mentoring and formal business training, allowing the Enterprise Fellow to focus solely on developing their business over a 12-month period.
