KE 'n' Coffee - Royal Society report on PSREs
7 October 2020 - 14:00 - 14:30
KE is about more than universities
In their next KEnCoffee session, Alisdair and Tamsin will pick up the Royal Society’s report on the role of public and non-profit research organisations in the UK research and innovation landscape.
PraxisAuril members are predominantly from the HE sector, but by no means exclusively. Amongst our newest members are Ploughshare (the commercialisation arm of the MoD), the Quadram Institute (food and health research), and the Francis Crick Institute (biomedical discovery). They join a good number of research charities and research council units as part of our KE community. Their contribution to UK innovation has been an important element of PrA’s KE advocacy over the years.
It’s true to say, however, that with the advent of the KE Framework and Concordat, that the focus has drifted to HEIs and this is something that we’d like to rectify. The Royal Society report is a great place to start; not least because it illustrates just how rich this part of the R&D landscape is.
As ever, bring your coffee and your questions!
