Friday 23 July, 1400 - 1500

SHEDTalk with guest speaker Tomas Coates Ulrichsen, Director, UCI Policy Evidence Unit at the University of Cambridge.

This month we welcome Tomas Coates Ulrichsen to the Shed to discuss data, evidence and the tricky question of just what is a ‘good’ number when it comes to Knowledge Exchange.

Tomas is a longstanding friend of PraxisAuril and members will know him for his insight into the dynamics of innovation funding and research commercialisation, and for his command of the data that forms the evidence base for national KE policy; notably the KEF cluster models.

Tomas is Director of the University Commercialisation & Innovation Policy Evidence Unit (UCI), based at the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge, run in partnership with the NCUB. The UCI supports government and university leaders in delivering a step change in the contributions universities make to innovation and economic prosperity through their commercialisation and other innovation-focused activities and partnership. For PraxisAuril members, the UCI should provide a robust evidence base that underpins KE activity and helps to celebrate the success of UK KE as well as identifying future policy directions.
